Pour in place:
Hard Rock theory:
Pour in place method of a shower basin (see our Terrazzo
Showroom) it gives the
shower basin a tighter fit. The advantage of a pour in place Terrazzo product
is
that
it’ll be ready for your plumber to complete the drainage installation with
ease.

Precast
For precasted products, you or your contractor can pick it up and
transport to your work site.
Precast is very useful and convenient in most projects (Some are just too heavy
to transport safely). We recommend the pour in place compared to lifting precast
that can weight approximately 400 lbs or more.

According to the
National Terrazzo and Mosiac Association:
Poured in Place:
"Terrazzo is a composite material poured in place or precast, which is used
for floor and all treatments.
It consists of marble, quartz, granite, glass or other suitable chips, sprinkled
or unsprinkled, and poured with a binder that is cementitious, chemical or a
combination of both. Terrazzo is cured, ground and polished to a smooth surface
or otherwise finished
to produce a uniformly textured surface.”

Note: The standard finish on terrazzo is an 80 grit carborundum polish. When
used in conjunction with a U/L listed "slip resistant" sealer this
provides a 0.6 anti-slip coefficient of friction. Higher polish grits that tend
to deepen and darken the aggregates are available". |
